ACADEMIA
Ong acquired a degree in music performance from the Elder Conservatory (Australia) under Stefan Ammer (formerly Prof. of Piano Freiburg Academy of Music, Germany).

She simultaneously studied electronic music/music technology with Tristram Cary (founder Electronic Music Studio, London Royal College of Music) whilst at the University of Adelaide, and followed this with post graduate work in Interactive Multimedia Performance at Latrobe University with Dr Jeffrey Lynn Pressing (formerly from Berklee College of Music USA).

Ong holds a Diploma in Education from the University of Adelaide and has also attended the Australian Film and TV school in Victoria. Ong also briefly studied under Guqin master ChengYu (UK).

 

professional career

Ong is an Australian born Singapore show designer based in the USA who performs around the world. Ong lectures and conducts master-classes in her area of expertise and has written for Singapore's premier "the Arts Magazine".


[1990-93] Co-director/founder of Multimedia Creative Concepts (MCC) in Melbourne Australia. MCC was a MIDI studio for TV/Film recording and composition and computer animation work.


[1993-97] Moved to Singapore to concurrently head the Marketing and the Special Projects Departments with a multimedia company. Besides overseeing product design and development, the job included international marketing/sales and business planning. The Special Projects Dept. developed a series of award-winning Music Edutainment CDs "Agates the Rock Group" and a cyber playhouse for experimental research.


[1998 to present] Owner and Director of Electric Muse Singapore (EM). EM has a reputation for being able to provide customized instrumentation and show design for live entertainment and theatre, with Ong known as an authority on various performances genres. In this capacity, Ong has also written two electronic operas (dramatico works) and contributed reviews and articles (about such artists as Meredith Monk, Richard Einhorn) to Singapore's premier "Arts Magazine."
Electric Muse Singapre is a member of COMPASS Singapore (2000) and ElectricMuse USA a member of ASCAP (2008).


[2004 to present] Ong launched show concept Xenovibes (XV). XV premiered at the Old Parliment House Singapore in 2004 and made its American debut as the headlining act for the Dallas Museum of Art's 102nd Birthday Celebrations in 2005. It has been invited to perform at such prestigious events as the EtherMusicFest08 in NC, MoogFest07 in NYC and the State Fair of Texas07 appearing with a slew of stars. The show was also performed for the President of Singapore and a host of celebrities as part of its 2008 Return to Singapore Tour.

[2005] Moved to America to work with Mr John Anthony Martinez founder of Fingerfoot Music Productions USA (FMP) in an international alliance with her company EM Singapore. Ong is its managing director. Martinez who participated in the premier of Xenovibes the Show in Singapore, is its U.S. anchor and core member.


[2006 to present] Co-director/founder of Keller International Music Academie with Mr J A Martinez of FMP. KIMA is a new music learning center and the only one providing the ABRSM (London) and Berklee (Boston USA) course material in North Texas.
