On this reggae-ish/funk tune written by John Martinez in 1994, I decided to put my trademark sounds/lines/vocal hooks. John commented that my vocals sounded Euro-pop ala Basia, so I finished it in that vein.
I re-purposed some lyrics about prime numbers I had written awhile ago. Prime numbers are natural numbers with only two distinct
divisors. The idea of such a phenomenon has influenced artists French composer Messiaen and films such as The Mirror Has Two Facesâ€. To pun on the idea of one’s main squeeze the lyrics say “Baby you’re my prime numberâ€.
My idea of my voice is as an instrument, hence the arrangement.
Written & produced by John Martinez / Shueh-li Ong. Lyrics by Shueh-li Ong. Boo Massey on guitar.
There is no law of attraction [Over]
Division impossible, But itself [Over and over]
It's not simply what you see
It's not always what you find [Over and over, again]
